HOW OUR WATER WORKS
Ambleside Estate operates our own community water resources. Each lot can access the water during the designated water windows. Water is drawn from our community dam or the bore, depending on availability of water.
Water is pumped from the source to two water tanks at the top of Broughton circuit. It is then released through a gravity fed ring line during water windows for owners to access.

Each property has access to seven hours of water per week; distributed through three 2 hour 20 minute windows. This is approximately 2340 litres per property each week which equates to 780 litres per day.
RESIDENT'S RESPONSIBILITY
Residents are responsible for water infrastructure including their meter boxes and any water infrastructure inside their properties.

Residents are also requested to turn off their water after the water windows are over. This is due to the gravitational pull of the ring system which will empty into the lowest properties if the water is left on.

Residents are reminded not to rely on estate water for stock watering or firefighting as this water is non-potable and supply continuity cannot be guaranteed. Residents are advised to consider the installation of a header tank to assist during dry weather periods or infrastructure outages which may not always be easy, quick or cheap to rectify.
VOLUNTEERS
The Estate water is run and maintained by volunteers which greatly reduces the cost for owners. Response times to issues will vary and are determined by our volunteer's personal schedules, which is why we request owners not to rely on the estate water.

Anyone can volunteer to be a part of our water team and learn some valuable skills while contributing to our community. If you rely on the community water we strongly suggest you volunteer for the team by emailing the committee through the contact page.
